Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Information Technology Department is among the best in the nation. The department was chosen as having one of the top 10 “Where to Work: Best Hospital IT Departments” in the medium (101-350 beds) category for 2012.
More than 10,000 hospital IT staff were surveyed nationwide and 125 hospitals qualified for consideration. The goal of the Best IT Department survey was to determine what characteristics distinguish the best hospital IT departments. To do that, employees graded their departments across seven categories: day-to-day work, IT team, management, hospital leadership, workplace culture, training and development and compensation. SBL was ranked sixth out of 45 qualifying hospitals in the medium category.

The research for this project was performed by an independent research firm.
In July, Sarah Bush Lincoln was named among the nation’s most wired hospital for the fifth time. The results were based on the 2012 Most Wired Survey Benchmarking Study released in Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.
