Evapco Midwest in Greenup, IL donated $2,500 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center to support cancer patients in need. Funds were raised by selling cancer awareness t-shirts to its 550 employees in Greenup and Newton.
“Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. Evapco has several employees who are currently fighting cancer. This is one small thing we can do to help and give back to others,” said Tracy Will, Evapco Administrative Assistant and fundraiser coordinator.
The company sold 800 t-shirts with messages of hope, including Hunt for the Cure and We Cancer-vive. “I’m really proud of our group. This is the first time we’ve done anything like this and our employees embraced it,” General Manager Mike Giannavola said. “It’s important for us to support the community and help those in need.”
